2024 Xiangshan2024 Xiangshan Marathon Kicked off on the morning of April 21st, with a total of nearly 10,000 runners from home and abroad participating this year’s event. This is another major event in Xiangshan after 2023 Hangzhou Asian Games.

At 7:30 a.m., with the starting gun ringing, the participants of all ages embarked on this dynamic journey. Freshened by spring rain, the track seems to be verdant, luxuriant and fresh and pleasant,the sea shimmering in the distance and the water mist steaming above, like a natural ink painting. When the surging tide of people comes, the scenery of the mountains and seas is switched into a dynamic sports style with the runners and the cheering crowd into sight.

The route from city track to coastal sightseeing line covering with Boundiese sea and sky,  Asian Sailing Games Center and Allah's Paradise on the Sea, leaves good impressions on every runner, most of whom took pictures of the amazing scene.

“The track is beautiful and comfortable to run," claimed Lin Shuangshuang after the race, from Fenghua, Ningbo. "If there is a chance, I look forward to stepping on the marathon track in Xiangshan again."

Through a marathon, Xiangshan presents the most beautiful coastline at 30 degrees north latitude as a gift to the world. 2024 Xiangshan Marathon has reached the 10,000-competitor level, with 23 foreign runners from 12 countries participating in the race, where athletes from all over the country flocked to participate, covering 31 provinces, municipalities, autonomous regions and special administrative regions, and the proportion of contestants outside the county reached 64.7%. Among them, the oldest player She Guoyin is 81 years old, and the youngest Ying Yinuo is only 3 years old.

This event has been divided into four groups, including fun run, healthy run, half marathon and full marathon. The mountains and the sea witnessed the professional sports level and tenacious competitive perseverance of the competitors. James Kiptumbarmasai from Kenya won the men's half marathon in 1 hour 05 minutes 17 seconds, followed by George Nganga Kimotho from Kenya and Li Enji from China. The women's half marathon was won by Jackline Jeptanui in 1 hour and 18 minutes. Zhang Shuihua from China won the third place.

In order to make sure this marathon would go well, Xiangshan mobilized the whole city and formed a multi-department support team of publicity, culture, tourism, public security, fire protection, meteorology, transportation, etc., to fully ensure the work of Xiangshan Marathon. At the same time, 1,500 volunteers has made up the competition, medical, security, cheerleaders,art performing teams and intangible cultural heritage display team, building up a wonderful scene along the way with their beaming smiles and meticulous service.

Xiangshan continues the highlight moment of the Asian Games, and constantly play the strongest sound of Xiangshan to the chart from last year's Asian Games to this year's marathon.
