A few days ago, at the Promotion Conference for High-Quality Development of Marine Economy in Zhejiang Province and the Project Cooperation Signing Ceremony, three projects attracted by the Ningbo Marine Economic Development Demonstration Zone (hereinafter referred to as the Ningbo Maritime Economic Zone) completed on-site signing, covering key fields such as marine clean energy, port equipment, and technological innovation. The total investment amount reached 19.64 billion yuan, introducing a source of vitality for the high-quality development of the marine economy in our county.

Two industrial projects for strengthening the marine economy were signed in a centralized manner. They are the Zhejiang East China Deep-sea Wind Power Mother Port (Xiangshan Area) Project and the Marine Wave Energy Generation Industrialization Project. There is also one project for promoting the marine economy through science and technology, which is the Market-oriented Operation Cooperation Project of the First Phase of the National Marine Comprehensive Test Field Ningbo Area. Among them, the Zhejiang East China Deep-sea Wind Power Mother Port (Xiangshan Area) Project plans a total investment of 18 billion yuan. It mainly produces three basic components such as the general assembly of wind turbines, floating bodies, jackets, and anchor chains, as well as core components such as generators, converter stations, and submarine cables. It also builds shipping docks and operation and maintenance centers, which will further promote the development of the entire industrial chain of offshore wind power. The Marine Wave Energy Generation Industrialization Project plans a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan to build a wave energy equipment industrial park integrating design and research and development, equipment assembly, and supply collaborative development. It is expected to achieve an annual output value of more than 2.5 billion yuan after reaching full production capacity and will become another key project of marine clean energy. After the signing of the market-oriented operation cooperation project for the first phase of the National Marine Comprehensive Test Field Ningbo Area, the Marine Economic Development Zone will jointly promote the post-operation cooperation of the test field project with the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. They will jointly build a marine test platform integrating marine new material research and development tests, development and integrated verification of marine high-tech equipment, and standardized testing and certification of marine new materials and equipment. At the same time, they will promote the preparatory work for the second phase of the project, and derive projects such as wave energy and unmanned ships for superposition and empowerment, helping to create a new highland of marine science and technology innovation.

The ocean is a strategic location for high-quality development, an important carrier for high-level opening up to the outside world, and a key area for international competition and cooperation. Last July, the Zhejiang Provincial Government approved the "Overall Plan for the Construction of the Zhejiang Ningbo Marine Economic Development Demonstration Zone", establishing Xiangshan as the main area of the demonstration zone, implementing the "county-district integration" physical operation, vigorously enhancing the level of marine science and technology research and development and industrialization, and innovating the green development model of the marine industry. Since its establishment, the Ningbo Marine Economic Development Zone has given full play to its platform advantages, firmly established the concept of "projects are king", focused on the eight marine economic target industrial chains of "having both ability and talent, being fortunate for the rest of life", made every effort to plan the attraction of major projects, and sorted out and formed 30 landmark projects such as the National Marine Comprehensive Test Field (Ningbo Area) and the East China Deep-sea Wind Power Mother Port.  At present, one project has been put into production, 15 projects are under construction, 5 projects have been signed, and 9 projects are under negotiation.  

Xiangshan has unique marine resources and a highly dynamic marine science and technology innovation ecosystem. It is an ideal place for investment and entrepreneurship. In the future, the marine economy will become a new growth pole to promote the high-quality development of Xiangshan.

Relevant person in charge of the Marine Industry Promotion Bureau of Ningbo Marine Economic Development Zone introduced that currently, Ningbo Marine Economic Development Zone is centering on the goal of building a pioneer area for the development of new-quality productive forces in the national marine field, making every effort to understand the marine situation, comprehensively layout the future marine industry, and strive to achieve a breakthrough in the transformation of old and new industrial kinetic energy by 2027, with the marine GDP reaching more than 50 billion yuan.
